Now that Game of Thrones, and Homeland are in between seasons I have been tuned into a few new shows, one of which I should have watched long time ago.
Entourage: If you haven't yet watched this show, you are really missing out. I recently started watching it after hearing about the Entourage movie that came out in June. This show has 8 seasons of 30 minute episodes. Which means two things: You have plenty episodes to watch, and you can watch them more conveniently without having to dedicate 1-2 hours to every episode. All in all, it is a great show filled with comedy, drama, and hot girls. Mark Wahlberg produced this show, which say's a lot because he recently started airing another similar show which also made my list of 3...
Ballers: Stars the Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson as a financial adviser to NFL super stars. His co-worker accountant is played by Rob Corddry, which you will recognize for his leading role in Hot Tub Time Machine and frequent appearances on the daily show. Needless to say the combination of these two characters on screen is hilarious and effortless. The show takes place in my hometown Miami, so expect to see a lot of hot girls in bikinis, exotic cars, and crazy parties.
Power: This show starts off a little slow in the first season, but in it's current 2nd season episodes the stakes have gotten even higher. The show follows the life of drug distributing ring leader played by Omari Hardwick. The characters are deep and well played by a collection of quality actors. Though, the story line feels a little cliché and overdone at times, the character progression and interactions hold your attention closely. The show is executive produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and takes place mostly in New York City, though there has been an episode or two in the second season where they recorded in Miami. Gotta love it!
